Why Slow Growth Matters
Slowing growth ensures that our community has the resources necessary to maintain a high quality of life for our residents. This includes a clean environment, local industry and maintained public goods such as roads.

Rebuilding our Infastructure |
Slowing growth means more protected farmlands that keep citizens employed. Fast growth depletes our land resources and reduces long-term employment opportunities in our community.
Promoting IndustrySlowing growth will allow our community to promote local industry rather than using our county for corporations' benefit. Localized industry brings greater benefits to the immediate community they are based in and is a more sustainable solution to broadening long term employment options.

Residents of San Benito don't have to look far to see the impact that unchecked and unregulated growth has on our community. Our roads, bridges and water supply have all been pressured by quick expansion in our county, leaving us with far too much traffic and a pipe system that continues to fail.
Protecting our EnvironmentSan Benito County is one of the most ecologically important areas in the state and is known for its vast ranch lands. By continuing with the rapid expansion of our county, we risk compromising the well-being of our environment and certainly will have reduced amounts of open lands.
